TO: All incoming Post officers:

Congratulations on being elected to lead your Post through the 2008-2009 term of office. This is going to be an exciting year not only at the local and district levels but throughout The American Legion Family.

I have just a few quick requests to allow for this year to get off on a truly smooth track and they are:

a. Adjutants, please forward to me a complete list of the Officers for the New Year. Please, if they have an E-Mail
address, include it as I would like to cut down on the cost of Postage.

b. Do you have an E-Mail address for your Post, they are easy to get: Yahoo.com and Hotmail.com offer simple E- Mail addresses. An example is Post 321's: eastHbertyamj3ost321 @yahpo.com or West Chatham's:
American|egion_ post322@comcast.net. Having an E-Mail address will make life a lot simpler and help decrease the Postage costs.

c. Please advise me as to your Installation Dates, so my Officers and I can try to attend.

d. Also, please advise me as to any special events you will be conducting, again to allow for the attendance by a District Officer.

e. Remember, our District meeting is scheduled for the August 3^rd, 2008.1 will be holding an Organizational meeting beginning at 11:00 AM. Even though we will not receive our Membership goals from the Department by
then, I have an idea on what they will be and will be assigning them to each Post at that time. We are going to do something different this year as far as assigning Membership Goals for the 2009 year.

f. Finally, all Post Adjutants should of received the Membership Cards for 2009, PLEASE convince your officers to Renew Now and send in their renewals to the Department as soon as possible to get your Post off of the ZERO PERCENTAGE MARK by the 1^st of July2008. It can be done, can we be the First District in the Department to accomplish this, and we can if we all out forth a little effort. I know of one Post which has already forwarded 8
renewals and two new memberships.
